COLUMBUS — Jane A. Johnson, 69, died at 12:50 p.m. Sunday at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Jane was born in Daviess County Sept. 5, 1944, the daughter of Buel T. and Evelyn (Jones) Kays.
Mrs. Johnson retired from Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation as a teachers assistant where she had served for 26 years. She enjoyed watching and playing golf and several years ago she won her flight in the Ladies City Golf Tournament.
She married James J. Johnson on Nov. 23, 1966, and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Angie (Brian) Duncan of Columbus and Andrew Johnson of Orlando; a brother, Ron (Genrose) Kays of Greenfield; and grandchildren, Tyler Duncan, Nicole Duncan and Brandon Duncan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Buel Kays; her mother, Evelyn McCain; and a brother, Dean Kays.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver and Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street in Columbus, with Mike Delong officiating. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to time of service Friday.
