Danny Darlington

July 20, 1955 - May 9, 2014

ODON — Danny E. Darlington, 58, having completed his last hale by going home to be with our Lord, passed away at 10 a.m. Friday at his residence.

Born July 20, 1955, in Speedway, he was the son of Audbry and Irene (Halschultz) Darlington.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1973 to 1978 and received training in electronics and microwave. He was an electronic technician at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane for 34 years. He attended Thompson Road Baptist Church. Danny developed a lifelong passion for astronomy and telescopes at a young age. He owned several, including a sun telescope. He enjoyed being with family and friends and living life among the “dark skies.” Danny will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Ursula Darlington; two daughters, Angela (Jesse) Moreno of Beaufort, S.C., and Rebekah Darlington of Odon; two sons, David (Allison) Tillman of Washington, and Jeremiah Darlington of Odon; his mother, Irene Darlington of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Iyana Moreno and Jean Goodrich; a brother, Richard Darlington of Greenwood; and a sister, Audry Brown of Greenwood.

There will be a gathering of friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home, Odon Chapel.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, with burial at the cemetery.
