William J. Ross, 96, of Washington, died at 7:20 p.m. Friday at his residence.
Born Oct. 29, 1917, in Daviess County, he was the son of William L. and Agnes (Price) Ross.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked at McCord Corp. for 23 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Kay (Fred) Geiger of Washington; four sons, Ed Ross, Bill Ross, Mike Ross, all of Washington, and Tony (Carol) Ross of Corydon; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Lagle of Washington.
His wife, Rita (Summers) Ross, died April 8, 1995. One daughter, Carolyn Grove; one son, Terry Ross; and three sisters, Mary, Viola and Grace, are also deceased.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel, with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, with military graveside rites.
Visitation is after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
