---- — LOOGOOTEE — Philip Michael Dages, 81, died at 1:15 a.m. Saturday at Loogootee Nursing Center.

Born May 1, 1932, in Daviess County, he was the son of James and Catherine (Bradley) Dages.

A graduate of St. John Catholic High School in Loogootee, he was a U.S. Army veteran. Mike was a farmer and former Martin County Commissioner and he had also worked for the Martin County highway department.

He is survived by one brother, Tom Dages of Plainville; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rose Pauline Burch; and three brothers, Carl, Walter and Louis Dages.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin Catholic Church in Whitfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion and V.F.W.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the church.
