---- — LOOGOOTEE — Mary Ann Krodel, 79, died at 1 a.m. Monday at Loogootee Health Care Center.

Born Feb. 19, 1934, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Michael and Mayme (Kelly) Soeder.

A 1952 graduate of St. John Catholic High School, she was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. She retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane after 27 years of service. Mary Ann enjoyed playing euchre, gardening and being outdoors.

She is survived by one son, Jeffrey L. and wife Susie Krodel of Bloomington; one sister, Rochelle and husband Jack Lents of Loogootee; and two grandchildren, Catlin Mae and Roman Dean Krodel, both of Bloomington.

Her husband, Theodore C. “Chuck” Krodel, died April 18, 1969. Also deceased is one son, Terry Krodel; five brothers, Clifford, Joseph, John, Raymond and Andrew Soeder; and four sisters, Helen Morgan, Margie Fouty, Regie Strong and June Yeskie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
