---- — OTWELL — George David Ison, 77, passed away Thursday at the home of his daughter Janna with family at his bedside.
He was born May 19, 1936 in Madison, son of Dave and Reece Ison. He married Betty Lee Garrison on Feb. 17, 1960.
George attended Church of God in Petersburg. He served in the Air Force. He was an electrician for union 481 out of Indianapolis. He owned and operated Ison Farms and Ison Farm Produce stand in Otwell. He was an avid Indiana University basketball fan and enjoyed playing cards.
He thoroughly enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Betty of 53 years; daughter Janna (Terry) Motsenbocker of Greenwood; son Mike Ison of Greenwood; grandsons Jordan Ison and Alex Motsenbocker; granddaughter Breanna Motsenbocker; great-grandson Aiden Ison; brother Walter Ison; sisters Margie Comer and Janet O’Neil.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Cleo Hughes and Garnet Johnson.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m., with burial in Walnut Hills Cemetery
Visitation will be at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
