Loretta Harper

LOOGOOTEE — Loretta Mae Harper, 81, died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday at Loogootee Health Care and Rehab Center. Born July 29, 1931, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Ott and Geneva (Conover) Crays. She was a homemaker, loved to cook, garden and crochet. Loretta enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Ives “Bud” Harper of Loogootee; eight daughters, Marilyn and husband Tom Baugh of Mitchell, Carolyn and husband Glenn Jones of Fort Myers, Fla., Loretta Jean Eaton of Loogootee, Deanna and husband Kerry Drabing of Odon, Darla and husband Darvin Wagler of Loogootee, Vicki and husband Chris Mattingly of Loogootee, Nancy Harper of Washington, and Mikki Harper-Bradley and husband Neil of Loogootee; one brother, Westley Crays of Loogootee; a half brother, Forest Crays of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Martha Chestnut of Odon and Mary Emma Bussinger of Loogootee; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; five half brothers, Charles Baker, Merle, John, Norbert and Frank Crays; and one brother, Ernest Crays. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home, Loogootee. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee.
