John 'Jack' Norris

---- — LOOGOOTEE — John Raymond “Jack” Norris, 87, died at 10:25 a.m. Monday at Loogootee Health Care and Rehab Center.

Born Oct. 14, 1926, in Martin County, he was the son of William Raymond and Agnes Ophia (Farrell) Norris.

He was a 1944 graduate of Loogootee High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Loogootee American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He was a retired city letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann (Norris) Norris, whom he married in 1980; two sons, Terry and wife Donna Norris of Houston, Texas, Don Lee and wife Tanya Myers of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Dottie and husband Greg Potts of Loogootee; and five grandchildren.

His first wife, Patricia Louise (Crooke) Norris, died in 1978. His parents and several brothers and sisters are also deceased.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the Loogootee American Legion and V.F.W.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
