Michael 'Mick' Osborne

WASHINGTON — Michael B. ‘Mick’ Osborne, 71, passed away at 7 p.m. Thursday at his residence.

Born Jan. 7, 1942 in Washington, he was the son of Clair & Marjarine (Bowman) Osborne of Sandborn.

He was married to Sherry Osborne for 28 years, he then married Barbara (Mixell) Osborne May 5, 1990 and she died Jan. 29, 2010.

Mick was a graduate of Sandborn High school and Indiana Barber School in Indianapolis. In 1965, he moved his family to Vincennes where he worked for Continental Baking (Hostess). He later worked as a truck driver for Hamilton Glass, then retired from ABF in Harrisburg, Pa. and moved back to Indiana in 2011.

He was a member of the Bicknell Elks Club and the Washington Eagles Club.

Mick enjoyed IU basketball, NASCAR, riding his motorcycles, and being with his family. He dearly loved his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by children Mint Osborne Barber of Washington; Michael E. Osborne of Vincennes; Maria L (Kevin) Kasinger of Vincennes, and Cory Osborne of Carlisle, Pa. Also surviving are grandchildren Casey Summers (Jason) Smith of Ellettsville; Mikala and Kaden Barber of Washington; Christan (Andrew ‘Butch’) Devine of Monroe City; Michael C. Osborne of Vincennes; Ashley (Dougie) Bline of Vincennes; and Daniel Kasinger of Vincennes. Six great-grandchildren, Schaeffer Smith, Lexi and Avery Pond, Kellen and Presley Devine and Camden Osborne as well as two step sons, Chris and Nick Orth of Carlisle, Pa. also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother Vic Osborne.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gill Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Mowery officiating. Burial will follow at the Sandborn Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
