Arnulfo H. Diaz Jr., 73, of Washington, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday at Eastgate Manor Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 6, 1940, in Alpine, Texas, he was the son of Makia Delulez Holguin and Arnulfo Diaz Sr.
A cook for 13 years at Black Buggy, he was a member of Harvest Community Church. He loved baseball and had played as a right fielder for a V.F.W. league in Brownsfield, Texas.
He is survived by two daughters, Angie J. Ferrari of Wilmington, Del., and Pamela K. Diaz of Washington; two sons, Michael Diaz of Washington and Hilton Diaz of Vincennes; grandchildren, Phillip (Ashley) Diaz of Washington, Carolyn Moss and Christopher Diaz; a great-granddaughter, Lilly Diaz; three brothers; and three sisters.
His wife, Florinda S. Diaz, whom he married September 1961, died June 7, 2010. His parents and one brother are also deceased.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.
Visitation is after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
