Parsons was joined in the multi hit club by Josh Divine, Roland Slaubaugh, and Patrick Bowling, each of whom was 2-4 with a double on the afternoon. Wyllie Wagoner added a three run home run in the seventh for LHS.

Ryan Wagoner got the win for the Lions with relief help from Slaubaugh and Wyllie Wagoner.

On Saturday, Loogootee split a pair of games in the Loogootee Classic at Les Page Field. The Lions dropped their opening game to New Harmony 11-9 before rebounding to down Shoals 12-0 in five innings. Tecumseh claimed the tourney title with wins over Shoals (14-0) and New Harmony (16-3).

Against New Harmony, Slaubaugh was 3-4 with three RBI, while Parsons was 2-4 with a pair of triples. Mitch Harder added a pair of hits for LHS.

Wyllie Wagoner suffered the loss for the Lions to drop his record to 3-2.

Against the Rox, Slaubaugh took a perfect game into the fifth before allowing a single. A double play ended the game via the 10-run rule in five innings as Slaubaugh faced the minimum 15 hitters for five innings to run his record to 7-3.

Bowling was 2-3 with an RBI, while Wade Lamar doubled. Parsons also added a two run home run in the first for the Lions.

WC takes 2 from Cannelton

The Washington Catholic baseball team took a pair of games from Cannelton on Saturday.

The Cards opened with a 10-0 win, where Damon Wilson limited the Bulldogs to just two hits. In the game, David Wichman, Ron Bozarth, Scott McDonald, Adrian Wilson and Robert Miles each had two hits. Matt Stuart and Matt Bezy had one hit each.

In the second game, the Cards (9-9) beat Cannelton 2-0. Wichman had two hits, with Bezy, Wilson and Stuart getting one each. Bezy got the win in the game.

“We looked a lot better today. Our pitchers were locked in and did a nice job of throwing strikes, striking out 16 while walking just one. Hopefully, they can keep this consistency for us,” said WC coach Steve Reed. “Damon Wilson threw a two-hitter in the first game and Bezy followed that performance up with a no hitter. Hopefully, this will steer us back in the right direction and give us some confidence as we head towards the final two weeks. David Wichman and Ron Bozarth led us offensively, with David picking up four hits on the day and Ron driving in four runs.”

ND falls to Rivet
