LINTON — Loogootee dropped a non conference baseball game at Linton on Tuesday 9-0.
Wyllie Wagoner saw his record fall to 3-3 on the season for the Lions. Singles from Wagoner, Ryan Wagoner, and Patrick Bowling accounted for the three Loogootee hits.
Loogootee was outhit by the Miners 11-3, and the Lions committed two errors.
Loogootee returns to action on Thursday at home against Northeast Dubois at 7 p.m.

SWITZ CITY — Loogootee finished the regular season 12-7 with a 5-0 win over White River Valley on Tuesday.
Loogootee easily defeated the Lady Wolverines, dropping just nine games in five matches. Emily Callahan downed Tasha Borter 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Andrea Vaupel defeated Kendra Brown 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. No. 3 singles went to Brittney Bateman over Erica Lemmons 6-1, 6-0.
In action at No. 1 doubles, Valerie Wickman and Sarah Allen downed Mindie Neeley and Bridgette Wedel 6-1, 6-1. No. 2 doubles was claimed by Loogootee�s Chelsea Strange and Ashton Matthews over Katie Hollen and Kayla Mathews 6-0, 6-1.
�This was a nice win to end the regular season,� said Loogootee coach Mike Tippery.
In JV action, Loogootee claimed five matches, including singles wins from Kelli Potts (8-3), Lindsay Wininger (8-1), and Andrea Heshelman (8-2) and doubles wins from Brittany Eckerle and Audra Lannan (8-3) and Lindsay Wininger and Erin Wittmer (8-2).
Vikes down Hatchets
MONTGOMERY � In the final tuneup before sectional play begins on Thursday, Barr-Reeve scored a 4-1 win over Washington in area tennis action on Tuesday.
Kacie James scored a 6-1, 6-1 win over Angie Rogers at No. 1 singles, while senior Brittney Taylor defeated Britney Lechner 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Washington�s lone win came from Cassie Schwander at No. 3 singles, where she defeated Devan Bullock 6-2, 6-2.
Both doubles matches went to the Lady Vikes in straight sets. Kylie Sluder and Kristen Knepp downed Allie Byrer and Taylor McPherson 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, while Jade Miller and Abby Pielemeier claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win over Washington�s Sarah Indahl and Hannah Lengacher.
�I was really pleased with the way Brittney Taylor played,� said Barr-Reeve coach Mandy Hannah. �She showed a great deal of improvement over the course of the season and we are definitely going to miss her next year.�
In JV action, B-R�s Brittany Ash defeated Madi Lee 8-3 in singles action, while Washington�s Justine Johnston downed Crystal Knepp 8-5. Washington�s Brooke Gress and Morgan Whitehead defeated Tiffany Graber and Linn Marcum 8-0 in doubles action.
ND linksters win
The North Daviess Cougars golf team posted another good score Monday night at the Eagle View golf course and were victorious over the South Knox Spartans and the North Knox Warriors.
The Cougars shot 170 to South Knox�s 176 and North Knox�s 198. The Cougars were led by medalist Ricky Graber with a score of 37. The other Cougars scores were Blake with Burkhart 41, Neil Parsons and Logan Brinegar with 46s, Blane Lawyer�s 54, and Nick Heshelman�s 60.
The Spartans were led by Adam Schenk with a 38 and the Warriors were led by Ryan Reedy with a 41. The Cougars next meet is Thursday at Country Oaks against the Washington Hatchets. They will be playing in the Loogootee Invitational on Friday. The Cougars� record is 20-2.
The Loogootee Lion softball team split a pair of games on Monday.
LOOGOOTEE � The Lions rallied in the fifth inning with two runs to beat Shoals, 2-1 in the first game. The Rox took a 1-0 lead into the fifth, but Allie Schulties walked and scored on a triple from Jessica Padgett. She then scored on a single from Stephanie Chambers.
�The kids we put in in the fourth inning really stepped up for us,� said LHS coach Greg Clark. �We played almost 20 girls in the game.� Rebbeca Craney got the win.
The Lions lost the second game, 5-1 to South Knox. Cassi Crew took the loss and Amber Scott got the win for the Lady Spartans.
B-R downs Paoli
PAOLI � The Barr-Reeve baseball team went on the road and returned with a 4-3 win over Paoli.
The Vikes (6-11) scored one run in the first, third, fifth and sixth inning.
Luke Harmon got the win, going 5 2/3 innings, giving up three earned runs and seven hits. Ashton Stutzman picked up the save with a perfect 1 1/3.
Josh Miller got the Vikes only extra-base hit with a double, while Case Cummings was 2-3. Also getting hits were, Aaron O�Connor, Harmon, Brandon Graber, Michael O�Connor and Stutzman. Kendall Murphy scored two runs for B-R.
Lady Vikes fall to Bloomfield
BLOOMFIELD �The Lady Viking tennis team fell to Bloomfield on Monday, 3-2.
The Cardinals took all three singles spots, with Bailey Maryfield beating Kacie James 0 and 1, while Nikkole Thombleson downed Brittany Taylor 2 and 0. B-R�s Devan Bullock also lost 0 and 1 to Bloomfield�s Sarah Miller.
The Vikings did get wins from both singles spots. Kylie Sluder and Kristen Knepp won a 7-5 and 6-3 match over Abbie Humerickhouse and Christina Neill. At No. 2 doubles, Jade Miller and Abby Pielemeier beat Lady Cards Lindley Gremore and Rachel Toon, 7-6 (7-2) and 6-2.
�Our doubles teams played great tonight. They never let up and showed great consistency. I�m extremely proud of them,� said B-R coach Mandy Hannah.
