Local wrap-up for Thursday

PRINCETON — Three Lady Hatchet runners will advance to the Evansville Regional next Tuesday from the Princeton Sectional.
Washington had a winner in the long jump, as Chelsea Lashbrook jumped a 15-11 1/4 to beat Lauren Zaubart of Gibson Southern by six inches. She also advanced with Brittany Carrithers of North Daviess, who tied for third in the pole vault with vaults of 6-6.
Brittany Bozarth posted a victory in the 3200 for the Lady Hatchets with a 12:22.30.
Brittany Archer will also advance in two events. She finished second in the 1600 with a 5:44.01, six seconds off the winning time and third in the 800 with a 2:39:60.
“Brittney Bozarth ran a great race in the 3200 and blew away the rest of the field by 18 seconds with a 12:22. She is really coming on strong going into the post-season,” said Washington coach Chris Derr. “Brittany Archer ran her best time in the mile with a 5:44 and a good race in the 800 to get third.
“Chelsea Lashbrook had her best jump of the year to win the long jump,” added Derr.
The North Daviess 4X100 relay team also earned a spot at the next level with a fourth, run by Ali Andis, Kelsey Crabtree, Carrithers and Chelsea Harkness. In addition, Crabtree will advance to the regional in the 110 meter hurdles due to a scratch by another competitor.
Other notable finishes from Washington included Olivia Lengacher with a sixth in the 400, Tally Barwick with a seventh in the 300 low hurdles, Hillary Patterson with a sixth in the 800, Michelle Hodges with a seventh in the 200 and Franzi Richter with an eighth in the shot put.
Notable finishers from North Daviess included Crabtree with a fifth in the 100 hurdles, Whitlee Uptonn with an eighth in the high jump and Carrithers with an eighth in the 100.
Vikes fall to Bloomfield
BLOOMFIELD — Barr-Reeve scored three runs in the seventh to tie the game but saw the home standing Bloomfield Cardinals plate a run in the bottom of the inning for a 10-9 win on Tuesday.
Kendall Murphy topped a 12 hit attack for Barr-Reeve (6-12) with three hits while driving in a pair of runs against Bloomfield (4-14). Josh Miller was 2-4 with a double, while Case Cummings added a single and a double in four trips. Shawn Graber was 2-4 with two RBI for the Vikings.
Ashton Stutzman, the fourth Viking hurler of the day, took the loss for B-R, facing six hitters in the seventh inning.
Cards take 2nd at Phil Harris
LINTON — The Washington Catholic golf team took second in a three-way meet at Phil Harris golf course on Tuesday.
The match was won by Union who shot 189 as a team, including a 42 from medalist Bubbi Lucas. WC was second with a 194 and White River Valley shot 232.
WC’s Justin Hart was runner up with a 45, while Austin Deem shot 46 and Adam Joyce shot 49. Garrett Smith posted a 54.
“Even though we shot 194, Justin, Austin and Adam have all showed improvement,” said WC coach Mike Chestnut.
Hatchets chop Titans
The Washington Hatchet baseball team moved to 11-9 with a win at the Sports Complex on Tuesday. The Hatchets overcame a 4-2 lead from Gibson Southern in the fifth inning, when Ethan Hunsinger doubled and Tyler Williams then doubled him home. With Williams on, Cody Osmon walked and Gibson Southern made a two-out error off the bat of Heath Robinson, scoring Williams and Osmon.
Hunsinger and Williams both had a single and a double, while Cody Lee also had two singles. Other Hatchet hits came from Logan Hawthorne, Alex Portee and Jance Johnston.
Portee got the complete game win, allowing just five hits and striking out nine.
