VINCENNES — The Washington Hatchet volleyball team fell in the sectional semifinal game at Vincennes Lincoln on Saturday morning, after advancing with a win over host Vincennes Lincoln on Thursday.
The Hatchets lost to Jasper in three games, 25-15, 25-13 and 25-22.
“We played pretty well in the first game, came out flat in the second, as we had a lot of trouble passing,” said WHS coach Lisha Browning.
“We started out slow in the third game, but played hard and fought back to 25-22. We could have folded up the tents after the first two, but worked hard.”
Sophomore Liz Horton led the Lady Hatchets with 10 kills, while senior Brittany Babrick and Jessica Prewett added four kills and seven digs.
Kiersten Hinkle had 10 assists and seven digs.
Kayla Sparks had 11 digs while Sara Eblin posted eight.
“Jasper is very good every year,” said Browning.
“We really wanted to end the year with a good showing and I think we did that in the final game.”
