A date with State

By Todd Lancaster

In a season where the Barr-Reeve Viking volleyball team has looked like the best team in the state, it will now get a chance to prove it in the Class A state tournament on Saturday at Ball State in Muncie.

The Vikings make their fourth trek to the state finals in the last 11 years — but this year they have be considered a team to beat.

“It has kind of been our motto that you have to be ready every time you go out on the court,” said B-R coach Amber DeCoursey. “We know that if you are not ready every time you go out there, you can be beaten. But we also tell them that they can beat anyone. If you put yourself in a situation to be successful, it can happen every time.”
