ELNORA — The seventh grade Lady Cougars defeated WRV on Tuesday night, 22-20. Scoring for ND were Meghan Knepp and Madison Reed with five each. Shaina Smith and Maggie Swartzentruber each scored four points and Morgan Wadsworth and Sabra Smith each added two points

The eighth grade Lady Cougars came up short against the Wolverines, 36-32. Scoring for the Cougars were Ashley Troutman with 14, Janae Wagler with 10, and Larynda Keith and Shirsten Speer added four.

ND 5th plays Bloomfield, Eastern

ELNORA — The North Daviess fifth grade defeated Bloomfield, 15-9 on Monday.

Sarah Fitzgerald led all scorers with 11 points. Sydnie Reed had two points and three steals. Brooke Moore had two points and Lenzi Brewer had five steals.

On Tuesday, North Daviess was defeated by Eastern, 28-22. Sarah Fitzgerald led all scorers with 16 points. Reed added six points for the Lady Cougars.

Lady Viking 6th wins

MONTGOMERY — The Barr-Reeve’s Lady Viking sixth grade basketball team moved to 3-0 on the season with a 35-6 victory over Holy Family on Tuesday. The Lady Vikings were led in scoring by Baleigh Miller with a game-high 14 points. Tiara Kenney followed with 10, Skylar Chestnut had six, Olivia Carroll posted three and Melody Rohrer had two. Barr-Reeve hosts Southridge on Saturday morning.

Hatchet 7th takes 2 from Boonville

The Washington seventh grade boys basketball took two from Boonville. In the first game, the Hatchets put together a strong first half leading 19-9 at halftime and continued their strong play throughout the remainder of the game to win 39-30.

Jake Brashear led the scoring for the Hatchets with 14 points followed by Tyler Stoll with 10, Tyler Summers with seven, Derek Arvin with six, and Andy Garland and two. In the second game, the Hatchets started slow and trailed after the first quarter 10-4.

The Hatchets turned up the defensive pressure the rest of the game and came away with the victory 37-27.

The Hatchets were lead in scoring by Zach Blubaum with 12 points followed by Max Smith with 7, Drew Brothers and Tyler Gray with six each, Grant Davis with four, and Koty Hatton with two.

Lady Hatchet 8th downs WRV

The Washington seventh grade girls team defeated White River Valley 40-22 last week. Audra Lane led in scoring with 17 points, including 7-7 from the free throw line. Ashlee Hayes added 14 points and five rebounds, while Hannah Mason contributed five steals.
