Bangor, N.Y. — More than 100 cows and 11,500 bales of hay were destroyed in a raging dairy barn fire in rural northeast New York.
Authorities said the fire broke out about 1 a.m. Monday. Nine fire departments responded to the blaze.
The cause of the fire was unknown but the owners of the barn said New York State Police officers indicated it was of suspicious origin.
The barn is owned by the Choiniere family. A nearby farm house was not damaged.
