Polls open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WASHINGTON — Polls will be open today from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. locally, as voters are expected to swarm to the polls to choose a United States president, and several other important races.

Voters in Daviess County who are unsure of their own polling location should call the Voter Registration Office at 254-8679, and in Martin County call 247-3751.

Voters will pick an at-large school board candidate for Washington Schools today, as Mike Traylor, Vicki Bubalo and Randy Bouchie are vying for two available spots. In Martin County, Shoals voters will pick a candidate in District 2, choosing between Mary Lou Billings and Angela C. Cook. In District 3, they can vote for either Dale Allbright, William Shobe Jr. or Lorna Troutman. Loogootee voters will pick two at-large positions, with choices of Timothy Bradley, Donna Greene, Valerie O'Brien, and Nancy Summers.

Local voters also get the opportunity to vote in the Eighth District race between local radio personality Dave Crooks, a Democrat or incumbent Larry Buschon.

Other races include U.S. Senate, Indiana Governor, Attorney General, Superintendent of Public Instruction and Indiana House and Senate seats.
