1:28 p.m. — Lee Huffman, 235 Apraw Rd., reported a vehicle belonging to his uncle, Kenny Clark, was parked at his house overnight and someone got into it and took the registration, insurance card and loose change. The car was unlocked.
11:56 a.m. — Karen Brown, 501 N.W. 17th St., reported a girl’s green Roadmaster bike was taken from her yard.
9:46 a.m. — Charlie Selby, 105 W. Viola Ave., reported a gray Osprey backpack containing clothes and personal items was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked under his carport.
8:13 a.m. — Richard Tomey, 915 N.W. 16th St., advised someone drove through his yard during the night, striking two bushes and a trellis, and leaving tire marks. Two utility poles and a guide wire also were struck, and clamps on the guide wire were broken.
2:53 a.m. — City officers provided backup for sheriff’s deputies on a traffic stop at E. Third Street and Highland Avenue. K-9 Diesel indicated on the vehicle and a small amount of meth was located.
6:41 p.m. — Ricky Ahlert, 712 Lincoln St., reported a boy’s red and black, 26-inch Huffy mountain bike was taken from his fenced front yard.
3:23 p.m. — Jarrod K. Cornelius, 18, Loogootee, was stopped facing north on CR 550E at the intersection with CR 1500N talking to a friend who was southbound on CR 550E. He stated he squealed his tires as he drove away and turned west onto CR 1500N. He lost control of the 1992 Ford Thunderbird, registered to Randall Cornelius, he was driving and went into a ditch on the north side of the road.
A passenger, Ridge T. Wittmer, 18, Elnora, sustained an abrasion to his head and was transported Daviess Community Hospital by Southwest Medical. Cornelius was transported by personal vehicle.
Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Clayton Moffett, 24, Washington, was arrested Friday by city police on a Knox County warrant for a writ of attachment. He’s held at the Daviess County Security Center for Knox County authorities.
