Monday Cancellations and Closings

The artic blast left little snow on the ground but a lot of cold in the area Monday morning.

Most residents heeded warnings to stay indoors and few are venturing out into the elements.

All local schools and several businesses are shut down due to the frigid temperatures. Vincennes University and Oakland City University are also closed.

Here is a list of closings submitted to the Times Herald and local radio station WAMW-FM:

City of Washington offices are closed except for essential services. There will be no trash pickup or bus service. Monday trash pickup will be scheduled for Tuesday.

There will be no trash pick-up in Plainville on Monday.

The Daviess County Courthouse is closed. The employee health fair scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed. The county Redevelopment Commission meeting scheduled for Monday has been postponed.

The Martin County Courthouse is closed.

All state offices except essential services are closed.

RSVP is closed.

Senior and Family Services is closed. No Meals on Wheels Monday.

The Daviess County Museum is closed.

The Washington Carnegie Public Library is closed.

The Washington Township Trustee offices are closed.

The Catholic Community of Washington offices are closed.

Perdue Farms is closed and will open Tuesday.

NASCO is closed Monday

Fantastic Sam's is closed.

Goodman Recycling is closed.

K&M Video Games is closed.

The Washington Family Moose is closed.

Daviess-Martin REMC is closed.

Donaldson and Sellers is closed.

The CSX retirees breakfast is closed.

The White Steamer is closed.

Knepp's Restaurant is closed.

The Gasthof is closed.

The Daviess County Landfill is closed.

Samaritan Center is closed.

Crane Federal Credit Union is closed.

Monday's Vincennes University men's basketball game at Lincoln Trail has been postponed to Jan. 13. at 8 p.m.

All Barr-Reeve athletic events and practices are cancelled.
