Washington school board will meet
Washington school board will meet at noon Monday to hear the contract tentative agreement.
4-H open enrollment at ND
4-H will be holding an open enrollment event at North Daviess High School at 6:30 p.m. in the vocational agriculture room.
Washington City Council meet Tuesday
The Washington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Prior to the meeting Mayor Wellman will make a special presentation to Trevin Alford. Items included on the council agenda: reading of ordinances of tax rate for Washington and the Carnegie Public Library, rezoning of certain area on Highway 50 Bypass, setback variances, stormwater improvement fund, vacating of public way in Taylor’s Addition.
The Board of Public Works and Safety will meet following the Council meeting to discuss a request to close alley at 210 S. Meridian St. for an auction on Nov. 16; agreement with Daviess County Soil and Water Conservation District for education outreach.
SAFS activities include grip strength screening
Senior activities next week at the Washington Senior and Family Services, 211 E. Main St., include:
Monday — Good Samaritan Community Health Services will offer free grip strength screenings 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Secret Donor Halloween bingo begins at 10 a.m.
Tuesday — Come in, play cards, games, Wii, watch TV or socialize, 10 a.m. 2 p.m.
Wednesday — Prairie Village will serve biscuits and gravy at 9:30 a.m. and call bingo at 10 a.m.
Thursday — Arm chair exercise begins at 10 a.m.
Friday — No activities.
The weekly lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Reservations should be made two days in advance by calling Jodi at 812-254-1881. On the menu Monday is sloppy joe, hamburger bun, waffle fries, carrots, pears and milk. Breakfast will be served Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., sausage gravy, biscuits, hash browns, oranges and milk. There will be no meal served on Friday.
Veale Township board will meet
The Veale Township board and board of finance will meet Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the office of the Veale Township trustee, Maria Killion, 1048 E. 500 S., Washington.
