VINCENNES — The Vincennes State Historic Sites will be having a History Hunt: Treasure Hunt on Saturday, July 27, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the main site (1 West Harrison Street, Vincennes—behind Grouseland and next to Vincennes University). The participants will begin the evening in Jefferson Academy where wine and other refreshments will be available. This program is targeted to partners 21 and over. The cost is $50/partners (non-members); $40/partners (museum members)
“This is a fun new program. It will give participants an opportunity to work together to find the hidden treasure. Just about everyone loves a great treasure hunt,” said Vincennes State Historic Sites Program Developer Jon Mays
The History Hunt program will involve participants going between the four site buildings (Jefferson Academy, the Visitor’s Center, the Territory Capitol, and the Stout Print Shop). They will solve riddles, anagrams, and other such puzzles that will take them step by step to the hidden treasure. Along the way, they will learn about the buildings, Vincennes history, and a few of the important characters of our past, such as Father Rivet and John Small.
