WHS students urged to wear purple

Washington High School takes a stand against domestic violence at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the high school. Fans can wear purple in addition to team colors to promote awareness. Hope’s Voice will be present at the fame to provide education and awareness.

Catholic War Veterans holding fundraiser

The Catholic War Veterans will sponsor a spaghetti dinner and quilt raffle from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday in the St. John Center to raise funds for the Martin County High School Scholarship.

World Mental Health Day is Thursday

Thursday is World Mental Health Day. While there are no events planned locally for Thursday, on Oct. 18, Out of the Darkness, in memory of those lost to suicide and those struggling with darkness in their lives, will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Eastside Park.

4-H open enrollments being taken

The 2019 Daviess County 4-H is now taking enrollments. The first event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at Barr-Reeve High School. The second event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Oct. 16 at North Daviess High School in Elnora.
