Jeffrey Rohrer

A near collision with a state police cruiser in Terre Haute wound up sending a Montgomery man to jail. Indiana State Police report at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday Jeffery Rohrer, 59, was stopped for disregarding a stop sign and almost striking a State Police Commission at the intersection of First and Sycamore streets in Terre Haute.

Trooper Gerald Stump made the stop and reported that Rohrer displayed signs of impairment. Police report Rohrer had a blood alcohol content of 0.11 percent.

He was taken to the Vigo County jail and faces charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering another person.
