Three people were injured in a hit and run traffic accident involving a buggy in northeast Daviess County Wednesday.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department reports that around 1 p.m. a north-bound buggy, operating in the buggy lane on CR 900 E., was sideswiped by a north-bound Dodge minivan near the CR 1000 N. intersection.

Deputies report the buggy, operated by Rosann Wagler, 24, Odon, was knocked off of the roadway. Meanwhile, the van did not stop.

Authorities say Wagler and two children, ages 1 and 2 were taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital where they were reported to be in stable condition.

The sheriff’s department spent about four hours in the Odon area before they reportedly found the driver of van.

“We believe the driver in the accident was a juvenile who did not have a driver’s license,” said Daviess County Sheriff Gary Allison. “There may also have been some illegal substances involved. He is remaining with his family until we get the charges prepared.”
