An elderly couple was taken to an Evansville hospital Thursday morning after an accident on the SR 57/U.S. 50 Bypass.
Lloyd E. Lemon, 86, and Ethel L. Lemon, 85, both of 6 W. Viola Ave., were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville in a helicopter from Daviess Community Hospital with internal injuries.
A nursing supervisor at the hospital said Thursday evening that Lloyd is in serious condition and Ethel is in fair condition.
The Lemons were the only two injured after their 2001 Chrysler sedan ran a stop light on SR 57 and struck a 2006 Ford F-350 driven by Darvin R. Stoll, 33, 1786N 950E. Stoll was attempting to turn onto SR 57 from U.S. 50 and had the right of way.
Stoll was not injured in the accident. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Washington Township Volunteer firefighters and Southwest Medical EMS all responded to the accident scene.
