The Daviess County Family YMCA has named Chris Watts as its next chief executive officer beginning March 15.
Watts replaces Tom Danehy who retired after 24 years of service to the Daviess County community.
Jeff Mason, CVO of the Daviess County Family YMCA board of directors, states, “We are excited about the journey we are embarking on with Chris, and extremely thankful for the steady competent leadership of Tom Danehy. There are new and emerging opportunities to take advantage of, and challenges in our community that demands the Y evolve its charitable mission to address and meet these opportunities. We are confident Chris will continue the fine tradition of the local Y as a strong community partner in responding to the changing issues of our time. “
Watts comes to Daviess County Family YMCA from Titusville, Florida, where he served as the executive director of the YMCA of Central Florida Brevard County. His 18-year non-profit career path includes being the executive director for Cincinnati Firestorm Community Outreach in Cincinnati, Ohio, and sports director at the Billings YMCA, in Billings, Montana. He is married to Jessica and in their spare time they enjoy traveling, going to shows, tasting local cuisine and playing games.
