Former Daviess County resident Earl Kenneth Cornelius, 89, passed away June 17 in Auburndale. He was born June 19, 1923, to Oliver and Goldie (Banks) Cornelius. He was a 1941 Washington High School graduate. On Dec. 24, 1943, he married Georgia Gretna Burress and she survives. He was a farmer and had also worked at Crane and Hoefling’s. Local survivors include a son, Edward and wife Sharon Cornelius; grandchildren, Amanda and Brandon Henry and Eddie and Clarrisa Cornelius; great-grandchildren, Aiden Henry, Emmah Henry, Chloe Cornelius, Brookelynn Cornelius and Makenlee Henry; and a sister, Doris and husband Robert Hawkins of Odon. A son, Daniel, and brothers Melvin and Bill, are deceased. A memorial service was held June 22 in Auburndale at Havendale Christian Church, where he was a member.
