The Alex and Tera Knepp family were honored as the adoptive family at the annual Right to Life Banquet held at the Simon J. Graber Building on Thursday Oct. 14. The Knepp family has six daughters, three biological and three adopted. During the banquet Alex and Tera Knepp spoke of their wish to adopt and knowing there are so many children out there that needed adoption they were so happy to do so. Alex spoke of how they may have had reservations at times but God has blessed them in so many ways and the family is truly blessed.
This year’s Right to Life Banquet was attended by over 400 people from the Daviess, Martin and Pike County areas. The main speaker for the evening was Kena Robling who spoke about her abortion and how it almost ruined her life until she found God. She said it took years to forgive herself for aborting her child and only then because she found God.
Glezen Revival Center was awarded along with Joe Henson for their many contributions to the Right to Life movement and a special service award was given to the Wanita Showers and her family in memory of Pastor Lou Showers for his work done for the local Right to Life organization. Also in attendance speaking at the banquet was 8th District Congressman Larry Bucshon along with Yolonda Taylor who was the executive director of the First Choice Solutions formerly the Washington Pregnancy Care Center.
