Searchers comb western Daviess County for missing Washington man

Authorities spent the day searching the area near a missing rural Washington man’s home. Authorities have issued a Silver Alert for Daniel Grannan, 71. Grannan was last seen by family members on Saturday night. On Monday evening a family member went to his home on West Business 50 and found him gone.

Family members report Grannan’s keys, truck and phones were still at the house.

The search Wednesday concentrated on the area from the White River back to the east of the Maysville area. Searchers included Daviess County Sheriff’s Department Deputies, Washington Township Volunteer Fire Fighters, Daviess County Emergency Management Agency and Ohio Valley Search and Rescue.

Grannan is described as 5-feet-7-inches tall and 220 pounds. He has brown eyes and gray hair and a tattoo of a heart on his upper right arm. Authorities say Grannan could be in need of medical assistance.

Anyone with information is being advised to contact 911.
