Searchers comb western Daviess County for missing Washington man

Daviess County authorities are looking for a rural Washington man. The Daviess County Sheriff's Department received a report Monday night around 8:20 from a woman who said her father, Daniel Grannan, was missing. The man's truck, keys and phones were still at the home when the search began.

Grannan's family reported the gun safe at the home was open, but they were uncertain if any weapons were missing. Grannan lives on West Old Highway 50. Authorities and family members have been and are still conducting searches in the area.

Grannan, 71, is described as 5-feet-9-inches tall, weighing 220 pounds. He has brown eyes and gray hair. He has a heart tattoo on his upper right arm. Authorities say he may need medical attention.

Daviess County Sheriff Gary Allison says at this time there are no indications of foul play.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Daniel Grannan is encouraged to contact 911.
