SAFS activities include blood pressure checks
Senior activities next week at the Washington Senior and Family Services, 211 E. Main St., include:
Monday — Good Samaritan Community Health Services will offer free blood pressure checks 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. American Legion Auxiliary sponsors bingo at 10 a.m.
Tuesday — Come in, play games, cards, Wii, watch TV, or socialize, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wednesday — Nickel bingo, 10 a.m. Please bring 20 nickels to play.
Thursday — Arm chair exercise begins at 10 a.m.
Friday — No bingo. Vet to Vet Café, 10:30 a.m. Kindred Hospice and Senior and Family Services wish to honor local veterans for their service. Lunch will be served. This luncheon is open to veterans and a guest. For a reservation please call Kristina at 812-482-3322.
Washington City Council will meet
Washington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers, 200 Harned Ave. Items included on the agenda: resolution authorizing transfer of funds; ordinances regarding issuance of building permits, fixing compensation for city employees, firefighters and police office and elected officials.
Board of Public Works and Safety will meet following the Council meeting to discuss request for parking sign at 11 S.E. Third St., utility assistance money from PACE, and salary/position change in the street department.
DC Commissioners plan meeting
Daviess County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Commissioners' Room at the courthouse. Items on the agenda include: highway department report; hospital appointments; homeland security grant; combined communication; property at 215 N.E. Fourth St.
