An Odon man was arrested Thursday by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on three counts of child molesting.
According to affidavit of probable cause, 20-year-old Lonnie Wagler on three occasions engaged in inappropriate behavior with a 5-year-old male.
The incidents, which occurred between June 24 and Sept. 4 of this year, were reported to a church liaison who then contacted Daviess County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Detective Kevin Eaton.
On Sept. 17, the Department of Child Services conducted an interview with the victim with the assistance of a translator. On Thursday, officers met with Wagler who told of the details of the incidents.
Wagler provided officers with a letter he had written. In that letter he stated he had been introduced to pornography at age 16 and had become addicted.
“I began putting my thoughts into actions,” Wagler wrote. “I didn’t really know then what I was doing but now I understand that not only have I broke the law I have also sinned greatly.”
No bond has been set for Wagler.
