Time is running out for school board candidates to get on the ballot this fall. School boards and the national tickets are the final items to be added to the Indiana ballot.
In Daviess County, there are three seats up for election for the Washington School Board. The District One seat has a race with Tim Hedrick looking to defeat incumbent board member Peg Stephens. Two At-large seats are also on the ballot. Incumbent Randy Bouchie has filed as a candidate. Mike Traylor has announced he will not seek re-election to the other At-large seat. So far, no one has filed for that second at-large seat.
At Barr-Reeve District 1 Board Member Alex Knepp has filed for re-election. No one else has filed to oppose him.
At North Daviess there are three board seats on the ballot. The District 2 seat is currently held by Cole Wolford, District 3 is Rob Dove, and Nathan Alderson has the At-Large seat. So far no one has applied to run for those seats.
“This is the last week for candidates to file with our office for the local school board seats,” said Daviess County Clerk Janice Williams. “They have through Aug. 21 at noon to turn in their petition.”
