A Washington man is in jail facing multiple counts of child sexual offenses. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of Jairus Allen, 31, Washington on a warrant on Jan. 15.
The warrant charges Allen with two counts of child molesting, one count of child molesting by fondling or touching a child under the age of 14, three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, one count of incest, one count of child exploitation and one count of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Daviess County Deputy Aaron Harbstreit alleges in a probable cause affidavit that the events happened between June 3, 2019 and Sept. 19, 2020.
The affidavit indicates the investigation began last week when the sheriff’s department was contacted by the Department of Child Services about a report to the agency’s hotline about the sexual abuse of a girl by Allen.
In the court document the girl claims that she was the victim of repeated sexual abuse by Allen. She also said he took suggestive photographs of her on his phone.
During the investigation authorities claim they found a second child that claimed to have been a victim of Allen in 2010.
In the probable cause Allen denies abusing the two victims.
Allen is currently being held in the Daviess County Jail on $500,000 bond.
Allen is set for jury trial on May 25.
