Washington police capped off a week where they seized $7,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine and arrested four people.
Within the last week, four people have been arrested and about 70 grams of crystal methamphetamine (estimated street value of $7,000) has been seized after a narcotics investigation that was started by a Washington Police Department K9 Officer.
The first arrests were made on Wednesday when officers served a narcotics search warrant at a residence in Washington. Officers reported locating approximately 16.5 grams of methamphetamine and arrested the following:
* Jeremy Sims, 48, of Washington for dealing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.
* Percy Lyford IV, 49, of Washington for possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance.
Officers continued the investigation into Saturday with the seizure of about 53.8 more grams of methamphetamine. This seizure included the arrest of Charles Stafford, 36, of Petersburg and Lacy Drew, 27, of Petersburg.
Stafford was arrested in Washington on charges of dealing methamphetamine and Drew was arrested in Petersburg on charges of pssession of methamphetamine.
Assisting agencies in the investigation and/or arrests included: DEA Task Force, Indiana State Police, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Pike County Sheriff’s Office, and the Petersburg Police Department.
