MONTGOMERY – The Blue Chip Conference recently named its All-Conference baseball team. Conference baseball coaches met Wednesday at Barr-Reeve High School to select the 2021 All-Blue Chip Conference baseball team.

The team included: Nick Swartzentruber (BR/JR), Luke Nonte (L/JR), Holtman Doades (NK/JR), Logan Graber (BR/SR), Jordan Wildman (L/SR), Logan Fisher (SK/JR), Kale Jones (NK/SO), Tristian Wirth (SK/JR), Carter Roush (S/JR), Chase Graber (BR/SR), Ty Kalb (NED/SO), Jalen Wildman (L/SR), Owen Day (WM/JR), Charlie Niehaus (VR/SR), Dylan Maeder (SK/SO). All-Conference pitchers included: Isaac Waggner (L/FR), Colby Pieper (NED/JR), Cole Jones (NK/SR).

Leaders included: RBI: Season: Robert Hostetler and Aaron Wagler of Barr-Reeve with 14 each. Runs: Season: Chase Graber (BR) 16, aho also led with 12 stolen bases, while Nick Swartzentruber had 2 home runs. Loogootees Austin Brittain led with five doubles and Lion Isaac Wagnner had a 1.00 ERA.

Loogootee, Barr-Reeve and North Knox tied for the lead in the conference with a 6-1 record.

The Blue Chip also handed out its softball awards, led by B-R and Loogootee. Barr-Reeve featured: Grace Butcher, Emma Davis, Jenna Harrison and Hannah Graber as a pitcher. Loogootee’s Kyleigh Courter, Mackenzie VanHoy, Isabelle Waggner. Northeast Dubois was represented by Hadley Fuhrman and Kelli Merkel, Hayle Goff and pitcher Phoebe Worsell represented North Knox. Other selectee included, Jianna Hughes and Reagan Nowaskie of South Knox, and Bridget Reel of Wood Memorial. B-R won the conference with a 5-0 record, while LHS tied NRD at 3-2.

Tennis also included multiple selections from Barr-Reeve and Loogootee. From B-R, Anna Ballengee, Dylan Decoursey, Gracie Madison, Kinley Schrock and Sydney Swartzentruber. Loogootee selections included, Katie Callison, Kieragen Napier, and Annalise Powell. Other selections included Abby Cunningham and Ella Hays of South Knox, along with Lauren Carie, Maggie Earley and Kenadee Frey of Rivet.

Under coach Tim Swartzentruber, B-R won the conference at 6-0, while Loogootee was second at 5-1.
