TERRE HAUTE — Area cross country teams ran at the Laverne Gibson State Preview Meet on Saturday.

The Barr-Reeve girls finished at the top of the 1-3A girls race with four runners in the top 10. B-R’s top runner was Makenna Pruett who was third overall, Melissa Wager was eighth, Katie Wagler was ninth and Andrea Graber was 10th, Kendall Tompkins was 51st and Corrine Corbine was 76th. The Vikings also beat Lebanon and Western Boone who were second and third in the 13-team race.

The Vikings also had a successful day on the boys side with an overall third place in the 1A-3A race. The Vikings finished behind Lebanon and Vincennes in the 18-team contest. The Vikes were led by Connor Heller, who was fifth. Bryce Murphy was seventh, Colton Stoll was 15th, Kaden Boyd was 32nd, Luke Lengacher was 34th and Mitchell Kavanaugh was 48th. Also running was Karsen Boyd, Alex McDaniel, Shane Sanders and Joey Marek.

WHS ran in the varsity and Class 1-3A race. The Hatchets were 18th in the 1-3A, with Zach Mann in 96th, Orlando Otero was 108th, Ben Myers was 116th, Alex Boyd was 118th, Grant Baxter was 129th, Dayton Cremeans was 139th and Isaac Mozingo was 140th.

In the Varsity race, Isaac Gray was 66th, Garrett Gray was 147th, Roberto Guiterz was 223rd, Colin Englehart was 243rd, Eli Wilson was 248th, Omar Mora was 254, while Keegan McDannald was 255th.

In the girls varsity, Washington’s Audrey Wright was 158th, Chloe O’Neal was 180th and Madalyn Sickles was 188th.
