JASPER — Washington’s Lacy Hancock lost 4-6, 1-6 in the IHSAA individual tennis sectional tournament in Jasper on Wednesday to Payton Duggan of Vincennes Lincoln.
“Lacy had a great season. I wish it could have gone on a little longer but unfortunately it wasn’t in the cards tonight. We thought we prepared for the lob game but came up short. It’s tough to see one of your players lose, it’s even harder when it’s your child,” said WHS coach Brian Hancock.
Dugan was the only player to beat Hancock this season. Hancock finished the year at 22-2 and 12-0 in the PAC.
