INDIANAPOLIS - Each year, the Indiana High School Athletic Association honors an outstanding official in each sport during the State Finals Tournament. Scott Arthur is the recipient of the 2019 Interscholastic Athletic Official Association Award for excellence in the sport of Baseball. Arthur will be honored in a special ceremony at this week's state finals.
A member of the Southwestern Indiana Officials Association, Scott has officiated 19 sectionals, 11 regionals, four semi-states, and four state finals during his 26 years as a licensed baseball official. He is also licensed in basketball and has officiated three state finals for both boys and girls.
Arthur is a graduate of the University of Evansville in mathematics. Currently, he works as a mathematician for NSWC Crane and has been for 20 years. In addition to his involvement in high school athletics, Arthur works with local youth programs for both baseball and basketball. He also assists the local high school with scholastic groups such as National Beta Club, and helps with other fund-raising activities for the school. Scott and his wife Marci reside in Loogootee and have two children, Dylan (18) and Shealyn (15).
