JH Cougars capture SWIAC 3-peat LYONS – North Daviess continued their run through the junior high boys’ SWIAC basketball tournament with a 43-39 championship win versus Linton at WRV-Lyons. The Cougars jumped out to a 15-4 lead and stretched the margin to 27-14 at half before the Miners mounted a huge comeback. Linton cut their deficit down to one at 36-35 late in the contest, but ND never fell behind in leading from tip to finish to wrap up a 25-2 season with their 20th consecutive victory. Travis Raber led all scorers with 17; Chance Cooksey managed nine and Drew Body eight points. Wyatt Bishop added four, Landon Swartzentruber a first frame 3 ball, and Brock Knepp one bucket. Miners move-in Braden Walters also scored 17 in a losing cause as North Daviess claimed their third consecutive SWIAC boys’ basketball title.
