Niehaus signs at Taylor

Washington basketball player Grant Niehaus signed to continue his basketball career at Taylor University, in Upland, Indiana, on Tuesday at the Hatchet House. Niehaus was a 1,000 point scorer for the Hatchets and both a Large School All-State and All-State Academic team member. “Grant had an outstanding season. He had as good of a season as we have had at Washington for a very long time. He meant a lot to our program. He was a great leader, practiced hard and had a great career and a great season at WHS,” said WHS coach Gene Miiller. “That Crossroads Conference (of which Taylor is a member) is a great league and a very competitive league. There have been a lot of great Indiana high school basketball players who have played in that league, and I’m sure Grant will do very well.” “Niehaus had several opportunities to play, but chose Taylor because of the relationship he established with coach Josh Andrews right away. “It felt like a family,” said Niehaus. “I can’t wait to go and get started.” Pictured (front row, from left): Danyelle Niehaus, Grant Niehaus and Chad Niehaus.
