Vikes basketball splits in 5th, 6th finale

BLOOMFIELD – The Barr-Reeve fifth and sixth grade teams ended their regular seasons on Wednesday.

The fifth graders ended at 18-0 with a 34-19 win over Bloomfield. Paxton Traylor led with 10, while Carson Yoder and Miller Thompson had eight each. Keirson Lengacher added six and Cam Knepp had two.

The sixth graders ended at 10-11 and fell to Bloomfield 42-9. Xavier Meiring had seven and Brenden Cornelius had two.

Cougars advance to SWIAC finals

SWITZ CITY – North Daviess knocked off the host White River Valley on Tuesday by the score of 44-22 to advance to the junior high boys’ conference championship.

While ND led just 22-18 at halftime, the Cougars allowed only four points after intermission to improve their record to 24-2. Chance Cooksey’s 11 along with Travis Raber and Brock Knepp’s 9 spots led the way in the scorebook. Wyatt Bishop contributed six, Drew Boyd four, and Landon Swartzentruber a three-pointer to round out the total.
