WHS volleyball falls to Bloomfield
BLOOMFIELD — The Washington Hatchet volleyball team lost a non-conference road match on Wednesday to Bloomfield in four sets, 20-25, 26-28, 25-21, 17-25.
As a team, WHS posted 34 kills, six aces, 15 blocks, 28 assists and 68 digs. The Hatchet JV lost in two sets, 20-25, 21-25.
WHS netters blank Boonville
BOONVILLE — The Washington Hatchet tennis team defeated Big 8 rival Boonville Tuesday night at Boonville. The Hatchets came out strong, stuck with a good game plan and won all matches in straight sets.
Zach Gray was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 1, while Braden Kixmiller went 0 and 0 at No. 2, and Jacob Rice won 6-1 and 6-3 in the third slot and in the night’s longest match.
Austin Gere and Owen Gray held Boonville winless on their 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while Gunner Jones and Caleb Armstrong won by the identical score.
NDJH tennis blanks WJHS
ELNORA — The North Daviess Junior High tennis team posted a 5-0 win over Washington Junior High on Friday.
Cougars Blake Huff, Kadin Stoll and Rex Freed at the singles positions, and the doubles teams of Max Toy and Cam Sassano, along with Aiden Pridemore and Aden Graber all managed Cougar wins last Friday afternoon versus visiting Washington.
Huff defeated Hayden Tomey 8-0, while Stoll and Freed in their first time at singles slots knocked off Austin Clark and Zachary Veale. Toy and Sassano prevailed 8-1 against Xavier Frank and Elijah Parsons while Pridemore and Graber beat Luke Clark and Alexander Hannah. Winning exhibition matches for North Daviess included Braylen Pridemore and Will Murrie and Casyn Bishop and Nate Resler.
