Lady Hatchets beat North

EVANSVILLE — The Washington Lady Hatchets soccer team dropped a close game to a touch SIAC opponent in Evansville North, 1-0. The teams battled to a scoreless half, but Evansville North broke free for the game’s only goal 15 minutes into the second half and would make it stick despite chances for the Lady Hatchets to equalize.

WHS beats WRV

The Washington Hatchet tennis team defeated WRV 4-1 on Thursday. Wins came from Zach Gray, 0-0, Braden Kixmiller, 1 and 1, Owen Gray and Austin Gere, 0 and 1, and Jacob Rice and Jaylyn Rook, 0 and 1.

The lone loss was Drake Harman, who fell 6-2 and 6-2. Reserve winners were Kiowa Jones, Brycen Niedigh and Alex Myers, along with the doubles teams of Gunner Jones and Caleb Armstrong, Jayden Meredith and Simon Parsons, and Eli Newberry and Ryan Emmerick.

“We celebrated senior night at Washington on Thursday at the Lena Dunn tennis courts. Jacob Rice, Austin Gere, Drake Harman, and Kiowa Jones all competed and have one more regular season match to go. The rest of the team, coaches, and parents wish the seniors the best in whatever endeavor they choose to follow. We compete against Northeast Dubois on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at the Lena Dunn and Sports Complex tennis courts for our last regular season match,” said WHS coach Jason Johnston.

Lions beat Paoli

LOOGOOTEE — The Loogootee Lions moved to 18-1 after a 5-0 win over Paoli on Thursday.

Jordan Wildman defeated Marcus Stroud, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, Jalen Wildman defeated Kainan Yother, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2, while Bryant Eckerle beat Bryce Ward, 6-1, 6-0.

Sebastian Toy and Luke Nonte defeated Tanner Coe and Brandon Cook, 6-0, 6-0 in doubles, while Jayden Leatherman and Nathan Seals beat Isaac McBride and Treyvin Street, 6-0. 6-0. Loogootee also won the JV match, 2-0.

“It is always good to pick up a victory on Senior Night. For Sebastian, Nathan, and Jayden their season will continue into the post season. Wyatt and Lawson saw their playing careers come to a close. I have a lot of respect for seniors that continue to play even though they may not be in the varsity starting lineup. Their contributions to this team have been tremendous and have made our team better,” said LHS coach Mike Tippery.

B-RJH beats Southridge

MONTGOMERY — Reeve Junior High Tennis team defeated Southridge at Barr-Reeve 5-0 to go 10-2 on the season. At No. 1, Ethan Stoll defeated Brock Thacker, 8-0, while Donnie Miller defeated Broghan Fuhs, 8-0 at No. 2, and Isaac Madison defeated Ruthie King, 8-2. In doubles, Seth Wagler and Kylan Lengacher defeated Canon Neukam and Ryan Roby, 8-1, and Ethan Graber/Landon Armes defeated Cohen King and Braden Rasche, 8-1 In reserve matches, Brody Swartzentruber and Evan Wehmeier lost 4-6, but Alex Guinn and Cody Kitts won, 6-2.
