Washington High School announced that the Champions 101 Sports Parenting Workshop is coming to Washington High School on Wednesday, Oct. 23. This engaging, interactive one-hour presentation will take place in the high school auditorium starting at 7 p.m. and is a free event for our community, sponsored by a Lena Dunn alumni.

Travis Daugherty is the author of The LENS: Raising a Champion Athlete and Man in Today’s Myopic World, a book for the champion sports parent. He has served as a head high school basketball coach in the state of Indiana for 14 years, where his teams have won nearly 200 games. He was honored as the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2008.

Daugherty also serves as the assistant director and leadership development speaker for Higher Level Father-Son Basketball Camps.

“Like any ‘101’ course, Champions 101 is focused on the basics – the foundation of what great sports parenting looks like and all it requires. It’s designed to help parents raise athletes and people who reach their full potential, in sports and in life,” said Daugherty.

All adults are invited to attend. The first 50 families to register will receive Travis Daugherty’s latest book.
