MONTGOMERY – The Bar-Reeve Invitational was held at the Gasthof on Tuesday with the Vikings taking third in the girls’ race and fourth in the boys. South Knox and Jasper traded wins over, with the Lady Spartans winning the girls and finishing second in the boys, while Jasper won the boys and finished second in the girls.

Barr-Reeve (83 points) was led by sophomore Makenna Pruett who was second overall. Katie Wagler was sixth in team scoring, while Andrea Graber was seventh and Mellissa Wagler was ninth. Also scoring was Kendall Tomkins at 59th. Corrine Corbin was 77th and Lillie Yoder was 80th.

Also in the girls’ race, North Daviess was seventh out of 15 teams with 212 points. They were led by Abigail Hellums in 22nd, Abigail Geisler in 36th, Alana Brinegar in 42nd, Mady Borders in 48th, Madde Miller in 64th and Mary Borders in 68th. The Lady Hatchets did not have enough for a team score, but Audrey Wright was 59th overall, Chloe O’Neal was 70th, Madlyn Sickles was 85th and Audrey Helms was 87th.

The overall race was won by Andi VanMeter of Jasper with an 18:55, while Pruett ran a 19:01.

The Vikings also ran a successful boys race finishing fourth with 131 points. Jasper won with 28 points as they took the top three spots and five in the top 12.

Connor Heller was 11th in the team scoring for B-R, while Bryce Murphy was 15th, Colton Stoll was 29th, Luke Lengacher was 37th, Kaden Boyd was 39th, Karsen Boyd was 82nd, and Grant Harrison was 94th.

The Hatchets finished eighth with 222 points with Issac Gray finishing seventh, and his brother Garrett in 27th. Roberto Gutierrez was 44th, Colin Englehart was 58th, Eli Wilson was 86th, Omar Mora was 91st and Zach Mann was 97th.

North Daviess was 15th with Owen Kalanquin leading them in 54th. Loogootee was 17th overall, with Josh Venters in 75th as the top Lion. Washington Catholic did not post a team score, but Dom Marner was 102nd and Eli Mullen was 11th.
